Queensland Symphony Orchestra returns to Townsville for a magical night of music

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to return to Townsville as part of The North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA), bringing another unforgettable concert to the city. After a spectacular performance last year, we’re back and ready to captivate audiences with the magnificent sounds of live orchestral music.

Taking place at the Townsville Civic Theatre, this concert will take you on a musical journey with a program of orchestral favourites. From the exhilarating In the Hall of the Mountain King from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No.1 to the delicate grace of Maurice Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess, every piece is sure to enchant. Plus, we’ll celebrate Australia’s rich musical landscape with Chloé Charody’s My Australia, a vibrant tribute to the spirit and beauty of our beloved country.

Gather your family and friends and experience the thrill of live orchestral music. Don’t miss this spectacular evening with Queensland Symphony Orchestra at NAFA!

Are you a young musician in Townsville? Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Side by Side program offers secondary students (AMEB Grade 6+) a rare chance to rehearse and perform live with the orchestra in Northern Lights & Southern Stars on 10 October. Open to a range of orchestral instruments, with applications closing 29 August—apply now and take the stage with QSO.
