A documentary dance film following the largest regional tour of a contemporary dance work in Australia. Featuring Townsville's only full-time company; Dancenorth with their acclaimed work 'Wayfinder', this is a film that connects people and place and takes contemporary dance out of the elite theatre houses and big cities and into the wider community.

The film illustrates a documentary style 'behind the scenes' insight into life on the road as a dance athlete and touring company paired with the slower paced life at home in a regional city. A series of fine art dance films set in rural locations across the country weaves throughout the documentary, further celebrating the diverse richness found in the remote regions of this country and the artistry of its people.

Documenting this mammoth tour of dance in Australia presents a powerful opportunity for regional audiences to experience work of the highest calibre created by a regionally based company. This Australia wide project significantly shifts the traditional mode of engaging with dance by inviting people to a highly accessible, digital experience of dance on film.

Please note: This is a film screening.
