KIMMI. In the Key of Amy is a deeply personal homage to the artist who shaped KIMMI.’s musical DNA. This show blends a handful of reimagined Amy Winehouse classics with KIMMI.’s own original songs, pieces that echo with vintage soul and burn with a modern Australian fire. With a sound rooted in Amy’s raw honesty and brought to life through KIMMI.’s bold, contemporary lens, this live experience fuses nostalgia with fresh energy- inviting you to feel, groove, and connect to every note.
From the tranquil shores of South West, WA to the electric chaos of Los Angeles, and now back to her roots in Townsville, KIMMI.’s journey through the music industry: record deals, reinvention, and reclaiming her voice, has shaped a sound that’s as vulnerable as it is powerful. Together with her dynamic band Triple Espresso, featuring Tim Salvador (keys/guitar), Noah Niemi (drums), Tanu Tries (bass/guitar/vocals), and Fermin (saxophone), she delivers a performance that moves both body and soul.
This show is built around original songs written and performed by KIMMI., laced with Winehouse-inspired tones, yet bursting with the multicultural grooves and emotion of contemporary Australia. Expect smoky jazz textures, soul-drenched vocals, irresistible beats, and guest artists on bongo, djembe, and horns to take the energy even higher.
More than just a concert, this is an interactive musical conversation between artist and audience. You’ll laugh, sway, reflect, and maybe even cry. Come ready to feel something real, to move your body, and to be part of a sonic journey where the past and present collide.
