The biennial North Queensland Ceramic Awards aim to increase public exposure to high‑quality ceramic artwork from across Australia. The Awards provide a prominent showcase for both established and emerging artists, supporting excellence and innovation in ceramic practice. The exhibition highlights the diversity of contemporary ceramics being produced nationally, reflecting a wide range of techniques, ideas, and approaches.
The City of Townsville Art Collection Award, valued at $10,000, offers artists the opportunity to have their work acquired into one of Australia’s most significant public ceramic collections. The acquisitive award supports the continued growth and development of the ceramic component of the City of Townsville Art Collection. The North Queensland Ceramic Awards is a Townsville City Galleries exhibition, reinforcing Council’s commitment to supporting contemporary visual arts and craft practice.
